Good to Know
Sustainable Packaging
We are proud at eatTelfit of the quality and sustainability of our packaging. All our food is delivered in 100% British wool lined cardboard boxes. Wool is now almost a waste product in farming and the value of it to the farmer has become almost nil.
Through using it as insulation we can give a new lease of life to wool. In aiming to be as environmentally conscientious as possible (in all we do at eatTelfit) we have refused to use damaging single use polystyrene and excessive plastic packaging. All our wool linings are reusable and also have alternative uses especially in the garden!
The only exception to this is we send all our meat vacuum packed as this is
critical to ensuring the shelf life and quality of the product when it reaches you. We wish there was an alternative to this but respect for the product and abolishing food waste come first for us.

Frozen Products
At eatTelfit we aspire to be a truly zero waste business. To minimise waste and maintain quality we freeze meat as soon as its butchered. This has advantages for the planet, eatTelfit but also the consumer!
There's an old food industry saying: There's nothing fresher than frozen.
The key to preserving quality, texture and flavour when freezing is as quickly and as early as possible under vacuum. We have access to commercial freezers at eatTelfit that allow us to completely preserve and lock in the freshness of our meat.
If you're adverse to the idea of buying frozen meat would strongly advise buying a box and trying it out!

Ice Packs
All our produce comes delivered with enough ice packs to maintain a frozen temperature for up to 48hrs. These ice packs can be reused and refrozen for personal use. They are also completely harmless if burst!
