Grass Fed Beef

At eatTelfit we are proud to supply the finest grass fed regenerative British beef

EatTelfit’s grass fed beef cattle are grown on both diverse, rough hillsides and natural pastures in the Yorkshire Dales using regenerative farming methods. Almost all of our beef cattle are over 30 months old compared to 16 months for commercial grain fed cattle, allowing real flavour to develop. We encourage you to look out for the darker meat and yellow of the fat that indicates a long, good life on pasture.

Our beef cattle live on a diet of natural grasses, forage and their mother’s milk. This allows the cattle to live longer and protects them from mastitis. We also utilise rotational grazing where the cattle are moved frequently between pastures to promote plant growth and prevent overgrazing of favoured plants. This results in greater cover being built up over the soil from long rest periods of sometimes 120 days before grazing again. This helps to improve soil health, as healthy plants feed the microbes.

eatTelfit believes in proper UK native breed cattle in a way that is sensitive to the environment they are farmed in. This allows us to produce the finest sustainable and grass fed beef with remarkable flavour, marbling and texture. Natural beef, grass fed in this manner, is higher in critical healthy fatty acids like omega 3.

Some of our most popular grass fed beef cuts include our rich, grass-fed beef mince - ideal for making succulent homemade burgers, tender grass-fed steaks and our slow cooker meats - perfect for winter warming recipes.

As we believe in zero-waste, all our beef is dry aged for a minimum of 28 days before being expertly butchered nose-to-tail by our ethical artisan butchers.

Grass Fed Beef FAQ's

Our beef cattle are ruminants and so are only really evolved to eat grass, browse and other green plants. Grass fed beef is therefore the only beef that is actually natural. Grains, which are high in rich protein and carbohydrates, disrupt the gut of the animal. Damaging their microbes and gut wall. These then harm the health of the animal and then the health of us. Beef not only better for us but more ethical meat as well.

Through regenerative practices we can restore the soil health from our farms and this can transfer that health to the animal and our grass fed beef. Regenerative grazing can massively increase the diversity in the sward as no plant is overgrazed and this diversity of diet supports the health of our grass fed cattle. The increased soil health and the remarkable ecosystem of soil microbes support the health of the plant providing all nutrients they need to thrive. Healthy soil, healthy plants and healthy beef.

Regenerative grazing practices can restore biodiversity in our farmed landscape and mob grazing practices return carbon to the soil from the atmosphere contributing towards the reduction of global warming effects. These key benefits coupled with the healthier quality of the meat are some of the remarkable impacts of regenerative farming.
